Brigid’s Path Welcomes Three New Board Members
KETTERING, OH (February 19, 2026) – Brigid’s Path, Ohio’s only newborn recovery center, is proud to share the appointment of three new members of its Board of Directors.
Joining the Board in 2026 are Shelby Elking, Mindy Liechty, and Kristina Vineyard, contributing a wealth of expertise and a passion for building a healthier community. They bring the Brigid’s Path Board of Directors to a total of 11 members strong, led by Board President John Garrity, CPA, CFE.

Shelby Elking, CPA, is the Tax Manager for Caresource, where she has served since 2018. She is a graduate of the University of Dayton and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2012. Her professional career has been spent in service to nonprofit healthcare accounting. She has supported Brigid’s Path’s Finance Committee since 2016 and continues to serve on that committee during her tenure on the Brigid’s Path Board.
“It has been amazing to witness the growth of the organization over the past 10 years, including the recent addition of Medicaid coverage for our babies,” says Elking. “This feels like an opportune time to join the Board and lend my nonprofit experience toward shaping Brigid’s Path’s future. I look forward to being a small part of the great work accomplished by this incredible organization. The ripple effect of lives touched by Brigid’s Path never ceases to amaze me.”

Mindy Leichty is a Senior Manager at Deloitte Consulting LLP, where she has served since 2010. She has more than 30 years of experience in program management, strategic planning, and process improvement. She is a graduate of Park University in Missouri. “As a Dayton native, and a long-time volunteer at Brigid’s Path, I’m excited to bring my expertise and passion for service to the Board of Directors,” says Liechty. In addition to volunteering at Brigid’s Path, she has a dedicated history of community involvement, offering her time and leadership skills to support local schools and her church.

Kristina Vineyard is Division Chief, Contracting Officer for the United States Air Force. A graduate of the University of Toledo, she has been a civilian member of the USAF since 2009. She became involved with Brigid’s Path because she is passionate about helping families heal and thrive. “I am inspired by Brigid’s Path’s life-changing work,” she says. “I’m honored to serve as a board member supporting babies and caregivers affected by substance use through advocacy, service, and heartfelt leadership.”
The Brigid’s Path Board of Directors meets bi-monthly to guide the organization’s strategic direction, advise on financial and operational issues, and works closely with staff members to further the organization’s mission: Improving the health of newborns and mothers impacted by addiction.
“I could not be more excited to welcome our new Board members, and I look forward to the incredible resources they will bring to the Organization,” says Board President John Garrity. “Brigid’s Path is in an exciting era with the new addition of Medicaid reimbursement, intentional and thoughtful growth in services and support, and greater awareness in our community and beyond. Kristina, Shelby and Mindy will be instrumental in helping us bring the unique continuum of care we offer to even more moms and babies who allow us to be a partner to them on their journey.”
